EXCELLENCE IN DANCE
& THEATRE EDUCATION
The Story So Far......
The Theatre & Dance Academy was established in 2008 by Principal Gemma Fisher after returning home from a professional dancing career travelling the world as the lead role in Spirit of the Dance. Gemma trained at The Royal Ballet School, White Lodge and Laine Theatre Arts and is a fully qualified Dance Teacher, gaining her Level 6 Teaching Diploma with bbodance with Distinction. She has a wealth of experience and knowledge about the industry as well as a plethora of qualifications that ensure she can deliver the best teaching practices. These include; Fully accredited Acrobatic Arts teacher, Level 3 Diploma in Child Psychology, & SEND Qualifications. TDA also benefits from an ever growing qualified group of teachers that understand pedagogy and don’t just deliver a syllabus. We understand Dance Science and are invested in continued professional development.
There are a million stories to tell, drama and gossip that surround every dance school including ours but TDA is growing and evolving every year and it keeps getting better. Progress and development is key! We reflect on our teaching practices and what we provide for our pupils. Wellbeing and enjoyment for parents is also important and we have expanded our facilities to provide a better total experience at dance class.
2020.....TDA has hit the reset button due to the life altering affects of Covid19. Our next chapter aims to be our best yet....
